TREK: KINGON BIRD OF PREY |

This a sensational kit made from resin with a huge amount of fine detail. I can't remember the brand but whoever made it deserves a round of applause. I built this kit about 1994ish. The ship was painted with 'Humbrol' enamel paints and weathered using water colours. The green I chose was the closest that I could match with the reference I had at the time. I have seen various shades of green used over the years for the same ship and all have said that theirs was the accurate colour. Personally I don't give a shit about the match as long as I'm happy with the accuracy of the kit. The kit was completely painted with a green then some of the panels were painted in different shades of green. The wings were painted a red the dry brushed with a lighter shade. The streaks all over the kit and the 'soot' around the laser nozzles and engines are created using pastel chalk. Because the kit was made from solid resin there are only 2 types of adhesive that will work properly, super-glue or a two part epoxy resin.
