STAR WARS: DENGAR'S BLAZER

This was kit-bashed for an Australian competition in 1998 run by a mag that's now defunk, (shame, it was quite a cool mag) the theme was simply it had to fit within the 'world' of Star Wars.

Apart from the engine bay and wings, the 'wessel' (as Chekov described the USS Enterprise in ST:The Voyage Home) is made from sheet plastic. it was made over a period of about 2 months and under went a couple of design changes during construction.

The engine bay is the Star Wars transport with the wings cut down and the canopy removed. A spine was constructed to the engine bay with a removable centre pod. (YEAH YEAH! just like Thunderbird 2!). The hull was super-detailed with 'bits'.

The long-range sensor arrays on the underside of the craft were constructed from brass rod. The base is part of a large scale engine head.

Some of the bits used in the radar include tank, robot, space shuttle, brass wire and plastic sheet.
