One of my very first super-detailing efforts, this kit was constructed in about 1988 using the AMT kit.

The kit was detailed mainly around the 'head' of the ship using just small plastic squares. The kit was then sprayed with a shade of green from a Humbrol can.

Unfortunately my kit had a damaged decal that belonged around the torpedo bay at the front of the cruiser. I had to handpaint the design, something I will never need to do again since I now have the know-how to create my own decals.

The cruiser was drybrushed with a lighter shade of the green and then weathered with pastel chalk.

I picked out where I thought the windows would be and painted them flat white and then the whole kit was coated with a flat clear.
